It only works for parties with the fewest seats by stacking the list with less popular parties, how do you think the Tories have way more List MSPs than constituency
It's no longer 2011, it's 2025, use the system against itself and keep the Yoonies out vote sensibly not loyally 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇪🇺🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

It will give more ammunition to the case currently going before the UN General Assembly for the Decolonisation of Scotland , which WM cannot interfere with

2011 was an anomaly, you're living in the past. 2011 there was only one Indy party: SNP.
There are currently 6 parties; the 2 strongest are SNP and SGP voting SNP 1 and SGP 2 should result in an additional 20-30 Indy List seats as opposed to project 2-3 SNP List seats
November 14, 2025 at 8:15 PM
Do the Maths: in any given region ( usually 9 constituencies) vote 2 is divided by the number of constituencies a party wins in vote 1
As SNP wins most seats in all regions, vote 2 is slashed by up to 9 times so NE Scotland region SNP vote 2 = approximately 1 1% of votes cast
November 14, 2025 at 4:28 PM
Sorry, should have been [SNP 2/9]= 0 SNP List as SNP got 9 out of 10 constituencies in the region.
If party gets 1 or less constituencies their vote 2 remains unchanged

The D'hont formula is designed to keep Yoonies in power in HR, as can be seen from NE Scotland region
10 constituencies currently 9 SNP 1 CON
7 List currently 0 SNP, 4 CON
This is because both SNP and CON voted 1&2
[SNP 2/10]=0 SNP List
[CON 2/1]=4 CON List
SNP 1, SGP 2 is a no brainer
November 14, 2025 at 1:47 PM
Because the Scottish Greens have a broad appeal, regularly polling in the twenty percentile, whereas Alba gets around 5% and Liberate Scotland less than 2% there are 6 Indy parties in HR26, the 2 strongest by far are SNP and Scottish Greens the rest just split the Indy vote
November 11, 2025 at 9:40 PM
The D'hont formula is designed to keep Yoonies in power as can be seen from the South of Scotland Region:
9 constituencies currently 6 SNP 3 CON
7 List currently 1 SNP 3 CON
Because both SNP and CON voted 1&2
[SNP2/6]=1 SNP List
[CON 2/3]=3 CON List
Vote SNP 1 and SGP 2 becomes a no-brainer

Below shows how SNP 1&2 is doomed to fail while highlighting the advantage of SNP 1 and Scottish Greens 2
November 7, 2025 at 7:42 PM
Absolutely agree, the only reason I push SNP 1 and Scottish Greens 2 is because these parties are the two most likely to gain seats in HR26 while the plethora of other Indy parties only split the Indy vote. I would prefer to have SGP holding SNP feet to the flames of the Indy movement 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇪🇺🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I've been informed that I've been misreading the D'hont formula.
Each party's regional constituency wins count against the total party regional List vote.
i.e. if 8 SNP constituency seats in region: total SNP regional List votes divided by 8
Vote SNP 1 and Scottish Greens 2 regardless
November 4, 2025 at 7:04 AM
It's a nightmare to work out but the attached image tells why SNP 1&2 doesn't (or rarely) works
Attached 2: 1 in text, the other in graphic form
November 3, 2025 at 5:15 PM
Basic rule of thumb:
if you expect a Yoonie to take your constituency SNP 1&2 should work.
If you expect SNP to take your constituency, a list vote for SNP is wasted, so SNP 1 and Scottish Greens 2 for an Indy majority and to keep Deform UK off the List 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇪🇺🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Good start but don't fall for the failed SNP 1&2 trap that will allow Reform in on the List

No, but it wasn't for want of trying:
S30?... Bojo: NO, NO, NO... LIZ lettuce: NO... Sunak: NO WAY...
Indyref 2?... UK supreme court: NO CHANCE.
Holyrood is designed to run on coalition with no single party majority, SNP, SGP would have worked better without WM interference
Vote sensibly 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇪🇺🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
