When I was an expat Texan kid living in Memphis in the late '80s (thanks, Savings & Loan Crisis), we still couldn't buy Dr Pepper there, but by golly was RC around. And there's a small part of me that definitely misses its then-ubiquity.

I assumed the same. Seeing CFB coaches in the wild just throws me for a loop (I'll never forget the random sight of Frustrated-Looking Mack Brown In The Apple Store), I can't imagine how disruptive it would be if he even went in and acted like a normal human being instead of The Main Character.

Austinite & Texas-born here; spent a week or so in Upstate NY this past summer and at one point I stepped outside and just realized how *quiet* it was, even in the middle of a neighborhood on a hill. No constant background drone of air conditioners going EVERYWHERE. It was truly discombobulating.
