Today is the second anniversary of a dear friend's final transition. Writing from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International airport in Atlanta and then on the plane to New York, I am reminded that Em (not her real name) spent a significant portion of final years of her life in airports, on planes, and in hotels. With the desire for deep familiar connections and mutual sense of belonging, she sold her home of 40 years and relocated to live near family.

I saw post today that sent shivers through my body. The writer, pleading for Israel to stop its attack on Iran, appealed to Israel's sense of concern for civilization: "Don't you realize you are destroying a civilization," the writer wrote. At this point in time, Israel has the blood of so many civilizations on its hands. I can't help but wonder as the the moral compass of the writer of the post.
