I think it's the sea. I remember collecting them on Suffolk beaches in the 1980s.

I wear no poppy. My grandad served in the Royal Navy in the Great War and never wore one. His reasons are too complex to explain here.

My favourite headcode, back in the late 70s, was 01 used on the little two-coach train that shuttled back and forth between Wimbledon and Croydon.

I eagerly await the day when they broadcast a performance of "Hiawatha's Departure" from Croydon like they did in 1975. It seems that the only Coleridge-Taylor they are prepared to broadcast is that which references the colour of his skin. And much of that is subpar.

I've just watched Geoff Marshall's video about the station. It seems that building the cycle path changed everything. And as there's a gate from the cycle path onto the platform, it's definitely not inaccessible any more.
