And that's just it. We don't rationalize that the competition - top to bottom over there - is much more balanced. So many good teams fighting for spots.

I think a lot of the contention from American fans, or those of other CONCACAF squads even, is that we see qualifying as an absolute slog - away to central American teams is a total grind. Pitches are terrible, atmosphere is insane, really difficult on travel. Things UEFA teams don't face.
