Chuck Schumer played this brilliantly. If the Repugnicans aren't willing to give even a one-year extension, it is a clear demonstration that the problem with reopening the government lies with them, not Democrats. Heather Cox Richardson had a very good piece explaining the logic.

I have to wonder if somewhere out there, a few of the brighter MAGAts (those who can count to three without making mistakes) might not be asking themselves if this is really the level of emotional maturity one expects to see in a world leader.
