This is only the 3rd time in SPC history that a Day 2 High Risk was issued. The only other two times were back in 2012 and 2006, which produced over 100 and 70 tornadoes respectively.

Strong wind gusts, locally upwards of 80mph, have led to a large cloud of dust being kicked up across Northern Texas, pushing east this morning. Visibilities can drop to near zero in these dust clouds. #TXwx #dust #duststorm

Double trouble this week, with two severe weather outbreaks Friday and Saturday. Also note the NWS SPC Day 3 Moderate risk for the Deep South. These are quite rare and have only been issued a handful of times since these outlooks were introduced in 2001. #severe
