November 22nd, 1963:
Light rain/drizzle and chilly temperatures greeted an estimated crowd of 5,000 in front of Hotel Texas in Fort Worth. The crowd gathered to see John F Kennedy before the President attended breakfast at the hotel. The rain would end a short time later.

November 22, 1874:

A pair of intense tornadoes occurred west of Huntsville and south of Birmingham, Alabama. Many homes and other structures were destroyed at Tuscumbia and Montevalle by the two wedges. Sixteen people were killed and several dozen more were injured.

November 20-21st, 1900:

An outbreak of at least ten tornadoes impacted Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Alabama. Two of the tornadoes were estimated F4s, striking hard southeast of Memphis and near Columbia, TN. 77 people were killed, and at least 376 were injured.

”Mr. Tornado,” Famed tornado researcher Theodore Fujita, passed away after a long illness on this date. Fujita was 78.

November 18-19th, 1421:

The notorious St. Elizabeth’s flood occurred in what is now known as the Netherlands. A strong storm on the North Sea coast caused several dikes to break. Some villages around Dordrecht were lost, causing an estimated 6,000 casualties.

November 18, 1957:

An outbreak of 22 tornadoes struck the Southern US. Ten of these tornadoes were significant (F2+), the strongest of which was an F4 that destroyed 40 homes in Blount County, AL. Four people were killed and 61 were injured.

November 17-19, 2014:

A massive lake effect snow event impacted Buffalo, New York. Over the course of 3 days, bands from Lake Erie produced snowfall rates up to 3-6" per hour. Totals in many areas peaked at over five feet. Tragically, thirteen people were killed.

November 17th, 1999:

Hurricane Lenny became the first hurricane ever to strike the islands of the Lesser Antilles from the west. The menacing Category 4 storm was dubbed "backward or left-handed Lenny" because of its unusual motion.

Six Boy Scouts hiking Mt. Wrightson got caught in the snow storm. The storm sparked Arizona's largest search mission. Three sadly perished.

November 16th, 1958:
Extremely rare, November snow fell over Tucson and surrounding areas of Arizona. The 6.4 inches of snow in Tucson is the most snowfall they have ever received in November and the second most all-time in one day.

November 15th, 1996:

A nearly week-long lake effect snow event in western New York, northeastern Ohio, and northwest Pennsylvania finally ended. Reported totals were immense, peaking at nearly 69" in Chardon, Ohio. Damage in the region was estimated at ~$25 million.

Tropical Storm Iota strengthened into the Atlantic's 13th (and final) hurricane of the year. Over the next 24 hours, the storm would rapidly intensify into an extremely dangerous Category 4.

November 15, 2005:

An outbreak of 49 tornadoes impacted seven Midwestern and Southern states. 11 of the tornadoes were significant (F2+), the strongest of which was a devastating F4 (2005's only violent tornado) near Madisonville, Kentucky. One person was killed.

75 people, including the Marshall University football team died when a Southern Airway’s DC-9 crashed in rain and fog near Huntington, WV.

November 13, 2007:

A powerful cold front produced damaging winds in Montana. Widespread gusts over 80 mph knocked out power, toppled trees, and fueled the growth of several wildfires. In Nye, news reports claimed that wind gusts may have been in excess of 120 mph.

November 13th, 2021:
An outbreak of 11 tornadoes struck New York, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. This late-season severe weather event featured Long Island's first documented November tornado. Around $2.8 million in damage was caused, but thankfully, no casualties were reported.

A wind trace from the Whiskey Run Turbine Site, about 12 miles south of Coos Bay in Oregon, showed peak gusts to 97 mph fifty feet above ground level. The wind caused widespread damage in Washington and Oregon, with 12 deaths reported.

November 13-15th, 1981:
A powerful cyclone brought high winds to Washington State and Oregon. The cyclone, which formed about 1000 miles west of San Francisco, intensified rapidly as it approached the Oregon coast, with the central pressure reaching 28.22 inches (956 millibars).

An outbreak of 12 tornadoes impacted Iowa. Three of the tornadoes were significant (F2+), the strongest being an F3 that heavily damaged or destroyed numerous homes in Stratford. One person was killed, and six others were injured.

November 12th, 1970:
The deadliest tropical cyclone in world history struck East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) and West Bengal. A massive 20+ foot storm surge laid waste to much of the Ganges Delta region. Estimates vary, but most sources list the death toll at over 300,000.

November 11-12, 1987:

A deepening low pressure system brought early-season snow to much of the East-Central US and southern New England. The storm was especially notable in Washington D.C. and Maryland, where totals reached 16-17 inches.

November 11, 2015:

A severe weather event impacted the Midwest and Central Plains. Nearly two dozen tornadoes, two of which were significant (rated EF2), were confirmed, and the SPC received over 140 damaging wind reports. One person was injured.

November 11th, 1911:

A powerful cold front known as the "Great Blue Norther" impacted the Central United States. At least nine tornadoes hit the Midwest, killing 13 people. Hours later, the same areas were experiencing blizzard conditions and temperatures in the teens.

An Armistice Day storm raged across the Great Lakes Region and the Upper Midwest. A blizzard left 49 dead in Minnesota, and gales on Lake Michigan caused shipwrecks, resulting in another 59 deaths. Up to 17" of snow fell in Iowa.
