ok so it is actually true for some kinds of IV anesthetics like propofol and midazolam. i will bitch *so* much about this when I'll ever need general anesthesia for surgery. do your paralyzed-but-still-conscious-self a favor and ask for gas anesthesia

There is a reasonably common style of anesthesia that essentially does exactly this. You experience the pain of surgery but the drugs mean you can’t form new memories. So for the patient, you go to sleep pre-procedure and then wake up post, but you experienced the entire thing.

France has just had a review of healthcare for young trans people and it has come out entirely the opposite to Cass. But then again the personnel involved had not been specifically selected to arrive at a politically-required outcome.
