Yeah it could have been 1.) that she was participating in Lumon's intake surveys but didn't know that her car accident would be faked and she'd be taken in, or 2.) she could've agreed to be taken in by Lumon for testing under the agreement that she'd eventually come back to Mark.

Totally. That was her emotional motivation. but what do you think Lumon promised her? What did she expect she was going to go through as a test subject?

So much happened this episode from an information-unfolding standpoint! I just finished The Leftovers two days ago, loved that show, but found this episode of Severance this week tremendously thrilling and impactful
