Of course, the roads are ice-free. The sidewalks were treacherous in spots. I fell once & witnesses a woman step off a bus and immediately slide on ice and fall.

The driver could have given you the entire lane ffs. It was a straightaway with no opposing traffic. Also, was the driver travelling too fast to read both the "no commercial vehicles" and the speed limit signs?! I would have felt terror as a cyclist!!

With south side bike signals working, it must have really triggered drivers to watch northbound cyclists proceeding after a short wait. Maybe those drivers should have taken Bronson.

The train at Corso Italia services institutions with thousands of employees (Ottawa Airport, Carleton U, eventually a new Civic campus). Many provide child-care.

The proposed route reminds me of temporary (and dangerous) detours around construction during summer months . A 2-year detour for kids biking independently to school and families pulling smaller kids in trailers is dangerous and irresponsible.

Between potholes, the incline on Bay, waiting forever for signal lights, and walking your bike along Bronson, I can't imagine how much time this would add to a cyclist's commute just to reach Corso Italia, for instance.

According to City of Ottawa Traffic, the work will be completed Sept. 12. Maybe an extension of the work? I hope Google maps gets no updates on reopening ( :

No worries, they placed a share the road sign on Catherine between Percy and Bronson /s. YES!!...share the lane with frustrated psycho drivers who use it as a passing lane and who accelerate to speeds that kill!
