That was a long but informative read. The fact that we aren’t working toward suppression is… weird. And I don’t mean the good kind of weird.

If so, nervous system soothing exercises are great. I love the heart hold (it puts pressure on the vagus nerve and helps regulate) and jaw tapping (tricks the body to thinking it’s hungry and in the calm state). 😁

I’ve not experienced fear and joy as anxiety but fear and excitement, absolutely. Fear and excitement affect the body in the same way, so the nervous system can get confused and read both as anxiety. I wonder if maybe joy works for you in this way?
