My first real western. Didn’t love this as much as Stoner, but I still flew through it and enjoyed it a lot.
Also watched the recent movie starring Nic Cage and it does NOT live up to the novel.

Not in my wheelhouse, but a fun/terrifying introduction to psychological fiction for me. Was hard for me to grasp the perspective shifts at first but once you figure it out, it moves. I loved this.

More short stories, very different from Carver, but you can sense a connection as they were writing at a similar time and share the “dirty realism” thing. Second Language stands out.
