I never understood Starbucks' anti-union stance under Schultz because it was clearly hurting their business. Seems like demographically many Starbucks customers tend to be labor supporters.

But they do have new leadership. Now it seems like the employees hold carry-over grudges.

The union doesn't strike me as understanding economic reality. They're asking for more staff AND higher pay. Usually those two are contradictory.

We used Instacart twice, and never will again. I think it's only useful for canned and boxed goods.

I worked in the food section of a newspaper and it was a sample sent to us. It sat on a shelf for a long time untouched. I liked the weird package but when I took it home my wife said, "How long was it on that shelf?"

I don't know, but I'd guess that those regions suffer from not being a magnet for out-of-state tourists. Finger Lakes can get by with day trips from NYC, but I never hear of anybody taking a 3-day vacation there.

I'm a convert for the reasons you cited. Murphy's not better than Frank Robinson or Babe Ruth, but he IS better than Jim Rice and Dave Parker, who were voted in.
