And thats also applying Econ 101 logic to the real world, which isnt practiceable to a T. In the USA, econ is capitalist centric, which means it also says we should get rid of unions, minimum wage, labor laws, etc, but that doesnt work in practice. People wont let that work.

Inflation is largely caused by corporate greed, not printing money. When Trump had the government print a bunch of money to try and save the stock market from crashing during his last term, there was no visible inflation, for example. No ones groceries costed more due to that.

And a living-wage looks different place to place. If your housing is free, or extremely low cost, the amount you need to make to live is lower. Apply this to whatever other changes you make.

I do not believe a currency-less society will exist, at least not in my life-time or my hypothetical childrens life-time.

But anyway, in our current systems, money is a man-made product necessary to live which means people need a living wage since literally everything costs money.

Money IS "made up", just like almost every job that isn't needed for the direct survival of the human species. Money is a product of the systems humans created, and is not ordained by nature or God.

So a better way to put it is, money is a "man-made" creation. (1/?)

The studies on UBI say you are, largely, incorrect. Sorry, but thats just how it is.

Most people will become extremely bored without work, without purpose. Anecdotally, I've been in a situation where I was unemployed for a few months and I hated it, I couldnt find enough to fill my time. I wanted to go back to work! (3/3)

A single mother may choose to work less hours so she can spend time with her kid. A student in college may opt to not work to focus on studies more for a future career. It gives people space to breathe, to not have to work 40+ hours at a shit job. (2/?)

Then you are just wrong. For example, that is an argument many mame against Basic Universal Income. However, everywhere it has been studied, most people still choose to work. But instead of working two jobs, or a job they hate, they cut a job or lower their hours. (1/?)

Not true for most people. Most people want to work, but they dont want to work at a job they hate, a job that doesnt pay a living wage, a job that doesnt give good health insurance, etc etc.

You'd get more people doing jobs they actually care about.
