Great to be at The King's Fund conf on courage, honesty & the future of #healthcare

This panel looked at creating a system responsive to need given the impact of #poverty. Well thought out #policy can change outcomes for good but admin is crucial; patients can feel let down navigating the system

It’s Trustees’ Week, and at Ways to Wellness, we are fortunate to have a board with a breadth of healthcare expertise.

We’re at the Connecting Communities Summit at the Glasshouse today. We’re kicking off with a keynote from Hilary Armstrong, Chair of @iconeighbours.bsky.social. She said: "The cost of not dealing with industrial decline is enormous." Neighbourhoods can give people opportunity, hope and aspiration.

Dr Nisha Sharna from Leeds Teaching Hospitals talking about how data needs to be joined up.

We have systems for recording patient info but they don’t talk to each other effectively. Patients will often be unaware clinicians don't have access to every system.
Sharing data will create efficiencies

Pictured is Dr Jack Mosley, son of the late Michael, who gave a view on weight-loss meds like Ozempic as a tool to help, but urged they're not the full story, with ultra-processed food a factor, as well as the fact patient discussions around weight should focus on health impact not figs on a scale!
