The Honda CB750 Hornet that I bought brand new 9 months ago just clocked up 2,500kms ....... the same distance I traveled in just 4 days in 1997, riding my old 1979 Yamaha XS1100. A bike I bought years earlier with 122,000kms on the clock.....and a sidecar attached

Rode my new CB750 Hornet 300km from Hamilton to Hawera, stayed a couple of nights with my brother & his wife, then rode home today. The conditions were stormy with heavy downpours. The traction control in Rain mode on the CB750 was very effective, & I felt very confident & safe.

When I bought the outfit, I really had no interest in keeping the chair, just restore the bike. But after riding it a few times, I decided to modify the mountings, wiring, and remove the roof, making it easy to switch between setups. I had a complete front end ready to.

Very cool. Reminds me a little of the Deus Ex FJR13 build. Here's my old XS in both configurations. The hardest part was hand-cutting and applying the vinyl fern frond 😁
