It sounds great, but: the album has been sliced into 4 sides, with two or three songs a side, at 45 rpm. My turntable is manual, not automatic. So one can't just chill and listen to the album: One has to get every 7 or 8 minutes to turn over a disc; it is for audio cultists, not the typical fan.

Hi Chad: I got the insane new package of Superhifi "Katy Lied" box, a 33 minute album stretched over two 45-rpm 12-inches. For the first time, it occurred to me to ask: WTF is "Chain Lightning" about? Any deep knowledge or clues?

That's one Boulder periodical for which I wasn't the music critic. Wasn't around 1970-1972, when I was at Boulder Express, Boulder mag, and Colorado Daily, and taking my clips and CU J-school degree back home to New York and officially kicking off the career now on waynerobins.substack.com

Very underrated record. I loved it when it came out. Probably was not great judgement for me to dismiss it in the way I did, but I really needed to get that article finished!
