Yes, FIFA is gouging, but ticket prices for major sports events and concerts in North America have gotten out of hand. World Series ticket prices in Toronto this October were an example as were Taylor Swift tickets.

Another option is to give the fouled team three shots at the line if they are fouled outside of the 3 point line.

But there was no FSD back in 2021/2. It is not the same.

And beginning construction on the first leg in 2029, which is 3.5 years from now, is NOT fast tracking a project.

But to me the big debate here is Montreal-QC vs Toronto - KW/London. The Toronto-Ottawa-Montreal route is a no-brainer. But going east of Montreal or west of Toronto should still be open for debate.

Yes, that area is growing and a stop in that area would likely attract passengers from Guelph, Hamilton, Milton, Brantford, etc if they could get to downtown Toronto in ~30 minutes.

I would think that the Montreal - QC segment is the least needed segment. Arguably that segment is less needed than London-KW-Toronto which isn't even part of this project. Except politics means that Montreal-QC trumps London-Toronto.

But if you listen to music and begin playing it seems you increase your risk of dementia.

Am I reading this correctly that always listening to music is better (39% reduction) than playing music (35% reduction) or playing+listening (33% reduction)?

I wish they were here and I could completely cut the cord. But there is still good stuff over there that ain't here yet.

And getting back to the European aspect, didn't Bluesky launch a year later in Europe?

A lot of stuff has never moved over. The quality of finance and economic discussion is still WAY better over there. The same thing on sports that I follow, like golf.

Why would the NBA schedule a game when it conflicts with almost every NFL game taking place today? You conflict with the end of the 1:00 games and the bulk of the 4:00 games?

But in some instances they are using off-grid power. Like the Stargate site in Abilene that I mentioned. Apparently they have permits for 10 natural gas turbines on that site. Here is a photo from a couple of months ago where you can see the 10 turbines

Unless it is the ocean - who has sovereignty over the ocean? Even Lake Ontario has two countries, although I believe there is a bilateral agreement. But what if the US decided they DGAF about polluting the great lakes anymore?

A bit presumptuous as well since there could be anti-trust concerns about this deal.

And what framework do you use to deny companies the ability to do so, especially when they are building their own generation capacity on-site, like with Stargate in Abilene, Texas? In many cases the gas they are using has been flared in the past - hence -ve Natgas prices in the Permian basin.

There is an urgency if your objective is to maximize the value of your company and you believe that scaling up faster than others will give you an edge - especially if this is a winner take all market. Like Google in Search. The winner could create trillions of $ of wealth for its shareholders.

True, but we aren't going to get there fast enough for the AI buildout to happen, and you still have intermittency issue for solar&wind. Sam Altman won't like hearing that he can't train his models today becaue it is cloudy and the wind isn't blowing. So we get Stargate with on-site gas generation.

I get this, but the "Canada is only 1.5% of CO2 emissions, it doesn't matter what we do" argument seems similar to "Why should I pay for sewers? I am just one house, it doesn't matter if I dump my raw sewage into Lake Ontario" does it not? So two (or two hundred) wrongs make a right?
