In Wayne’s studio: a group of his “rocks,” which functioned as glaze tests but which he also considered individual and unique works. A number of similar pieces are currently being packed up for an exhibition this summer… more details coming soon.
A tray of orange, brown, and black "rocks" made from ceramic, with both painted and scratched (sgraffito) decorations. The tray sits on a wooden shelf near a window in a ceramics studio. Beside the tray of "rocks" there is a plant and other various pottery pieces, shards, and glaze tests.
