On Whadjuk Boodjah the flax lilys are flowering.
A close up photo - thin grey-mauve stems lead to vertically hanging ellipsoid flower pods, two of which have opened. The flowers are 10mm across, purple petals facing upward. The pistils extend down on tiny crooked white legs to a ball of yellow pollen and a white taper

Forgotten jarrah discovered in overgrown woodshed

Large old pieces of wood in an open shed overgrown with a grape vine In front of a green corrugated asbestos shed stands a yellow hand trolley, an aluminium ladder and a red wheelbarrow. In front of these, a jarrah slab (1500x400x60mm) stands on it's end next to a round piece of jarrah burl (600x100mm) A portable woodworking bench with the jarrah slab on top, edgeways and lengthways. It is held in place with maple bench dogs and wedges. On the bench are two drawknives and a mallet

A wooden joiners mallet. The handle is rock maple, hand carved, the head is coastal Moort. The light hardwood handle is joined to the dark, heavy figured head by mortice with a wedge A different angle. Moort is the Nyoongar word for family

Frame is built - this will be so heavy I won't be able to move it on my own.
The legs are slightly twisted, a little tricky squaring everything up but I thought they were nice like that #woodworking
