Looking forward, macOS and iOS redesign need to lean way from, and not into, deeper minimalism. We’ve had a good run since iOS 7, learned what worked & what didn’t. With Ai and declarative computing being the next tech revolution, our operating systems need a touch more humanity and tactility.

Fun fact: If you analyze the root causes of why Mac has been historically bad at gaming, and leadership's reluctance to meaningfully address it — it tells you everything about how and why Apple massively missed on AI.

Cook’s leadership has proven astronomically lucrative for the company and its investors. Some may argue his position is bulletproof. But when investors begin to see the high water mark of the best growth-stage value-extraction CEOs in a generation, no amount of historical gains will be enough.

Using #SwiftUI’s UIGestureRecognizerRepresentable and Anchor Preferences, you can build a ButtonStyle that is triggered by a long-press in a parent view in addition to regular taps.
This enables building custom menus like this that allow triggering an action with a single long press.
