Chickie P is still afraid of me but the kitten compulsion to play is too strong.

Look at the tip of his tail!!!

Western Nebraska. Why? Because it is so deliciously devoid of anything.

Picked one of my Leavenworth eryngo after it turned purple, and it is a delightful native plant here in Kansas. I'm going to attempt to press it and hope the rest of them self-seed and come back next year.

I thought this was going to go in a different direction, which is what makes these pamphlets delightful. @pendlehillusa.bsky.social Pamphlet #90, published in 1956. Young writes about poverty and the difference between poverty and simplicity. Of course, John Woolman is quoted.

Maybe this will be a good place to document my @pendlehillusa.bsky.social Pamphlet readings. This is #149 published in 1966. It's about intentional communities, specifically Ephrata, the Amish, the Doukhobors, the Shakers, the Bruderhof and Monteverde.

Amongst my black eyed susans were some false sunflowers that I have no idea where they came from. Besides the ground, obviously. #BloomScrolling

The zebra mallow that I have tried and failed to contain looks pretty good right now.

Reminds me of this quote from Ortega y Gasset from "The Revolt of the Masses"

#Tardigrades are common in #wastewater treatment but I still love watching them move around when I see them. The fact they have eight legs is wild.

My star magnolia got to bloom this year! Last year it did not due to a late hard freeze. #FlowerReport #BloomScrolling

Friends of the Kaw have a program where you can symbolically adopt a mile of the Kansas River. I "adopted" a mile and put my family as the name, and I got an email about it today which is hitting me right in the feels.
