One could argue that it’s the US fault but I would argue the contrary. When the US and UK got involved in Iran, it was a very modern, civilized and wealthy country. Iranian women could be educated and live a very “western” life. There is another factor that many are entirely over looking.

That is untrue. If the enemy uses a structure for attacks or shelter than according to the rules of law it becomes a valid target. Them is the rules.
