Wausau Pilot & Review WAUSAU, Wis. — A three-day jury trial for former Riverside Fire & Rescue Chief Robert Bowen is now set to begin April 7, according to new dates established during a scheduling conference Tuesday in Marathon County Circuit Court. Bowen, 54, is also due back in court in March for a pretrial conference in the case, court records show.

Dear editor, Conservative groups and individuals, including many of our state legislators, who are often critical of our public schools have found another reason to complain. Their criticism focuses on two of the four sections in the state's newly designed school and school district annual report cards issued by the state department of public instruction. These report cards give each district and each school a four-star to one-star rating.

By Shereen Siewert | Wausau Pilot & Review WAUSAU — A convicted sex offender who served nearly two decades in prison for assaults in Marathon and Lincoln counties has been released to community supervision in Wausau, according to a bulletin issued by the Marathon County Sex Offender CORE team. Kenneth C. Ingersoll, 39, reached his mandatory release date on Nov. 19 and is now living in transitional housing in the 600 block of Jefferson Street.

By Peter Cameron, THE BADGER PROJECT A former Sauk County Sheriff’s deputy who worked in the jail is facing three first-degree felonies after he snapped a photo of a half-nude female inmate captured on the jail’s video surveillance system. David Galvan, 35, has an initial court appearance scheduled for Nov. 19. When confronted by a Columbia County sheriff’s detective investigating the case this summer, Galvan admitted to snapping the photo and sharing it with another deputy, according to the investigative report.
