It’s a consumer coop. Even though workers can hold memberships, they don’t have any special privileges or considerations separate from other consumers

Important to note that REI is a consumer co-op. They make no claims to prioritize the needs of workers any more than a traditionally owned business, and they shouldn’t be held as representative of co-ops broadly.

This is exactly the type of shit people mean when we say to not listen to “strategists”

This was a terrible joke when it infected my brain. Now it’s a terrible photo edit that I spent far too long on, as well

This is moustache slander wear your facial hair however you want. If I could pull this off at my wedding after a week (and counting) of salmonella, it can’t be that much of a reach

I was not aware of part 9, question 5 of the N-400 until now. This is a pretty disgusting standard to impose

Also really disappointing to learn that graffiti counts as a code violation

The metaphor here is incredible

This is a cool feature! I’m surprised there isn’t a small shift amount the 1911 cohort, given the impact on 10-yr-olds shown here

I really appreciate this visual because it highlights that most people lived to a decent age while also showing that we’ve been making improvements. I’ve seen people misuse the infant mortality bit to argue against any improvements in life expectancy

Also, acting like there were no repercussions of the Tea Party movement is wild. The entire “freedom caucus” was created as a direct result of these people running for office. Ted Cruz ran as a tea party candidate!

Shot by who? Who was doing the shooting? @nytimes.com

FYI: the 3D test linked here is from a former Israeli government official — it bars any critique of Israel’s existence, comparisons to other genocides, and focusing critique on Israel’s actions without also criticizing other nations. This is neither a fair nor useful test

I don’t want to downplay the fed jacketing, but the firebombing a Walmart thing is a reference to this tweet. I don’t think the first person was actually accusing you of terrorism
June 13, 2025 at 7:22 PM
Gee, I wonder what could possibly have led to so many people thinking these protests have been mostly violent? I guess we'll never know.

These are their ideas of “wasteful” questions?

Understanding who is and is not drinking and what they’re consuming helps study addiction.

And “how much do you use [thing that requires infrastructural investment]?” seems like a good question to ask if you want to *efficiently* allocate resources

This is a wild opinion to have when he claims to be an historian and activist in his bio

(I’m not even gonna touch the “progressive zionist” bit)
