Prof Matthew Hansen @umdgeography.bsky.social described the new results as frightening & warned of possible "savannisation" of the rainforest, where old-growth tropical forests die back & switch to savanna "It's a theory, but more & more plausible."

Teaching OS map symbols? Great fun activity idea. Ask students to imagine they own an island which they would love to live on. Get them to draw it but only using OS map symbols. They love this and it allows them to explore symbols in detail.
