11 orgs have sent a letter to Fisheries Minister Thompson, calling for a retraction of DFO’s flawed parasitic lice report. A new peer-reviewed study, co-authored by the same scientists, confirms what independent researchers have long said: parasitic lice from salmon farms infect BC wild salmon.

This is what factory fish farms don’t want you to see. 🎥

Federal underwater inspection footage from an experimental fish farm near Tofino shows the sea floor under the farm covered in fish feces & feed.

The 2025 B.C. budget is a washout for wild salmon & watersheds—no dedicated watershed security funding, as the government moves to fast-track resource extraction. A missed chance to create good jobs that protect communities & salmon.

Fishy Fact: Like trees, fish scales grow in rings!🪵🐟

These rings can reveal important information, including their age and how much time a salmon spent in freshwater vs the ocean!

The secret to a salmon's dramatic hue? shrimp! 🦐 Salmon take up pigments called carotenoids through their crustacean-rich diet. They absorb and store these pigments in their flesh and skin, giving them their styling signature look. #nowyouknow #fishyfacts #wildsalmon
