Lamb shanks bought 2 weeks apart. On the left, out of the freezer bought in person. On the right, shopping online & delivered to my boot. Most of the meat removed on the latter. Seems it pays to shop in person. I'd have looked at other meats.

My very ill friend's wife, who's parents are Italian, gave me some homemade bottled tomato with herbs, straight from the farm. Told me to just add meat & veg. Slow cooker yesterday as instructed. Decided to make pies this morning using Mum's hot water pastry.

Everyone of us is an unforeseen illness/disaster away from needing supported care or sudden death. I've lost 3 immediate family in recent years, another extended & now watch a good friend deteriorate at frightening speed. Live. Love. Be there for each other. Time is inexorable.
