Saga of the Seasons takes place over a full year, integrating the players into every aspect of a Viking-style clan of raiders, farmers, hunters, diplomats, and mystics.

Dark Harvest by Josh Reynolds. Published as part of a Warhammer horror book series. I enjoyed it because it had a decent plot, good main character, and was part of a greater setting/universe. The book is deep, dark, and disturbing, but I'm not sure it's as dark or gory as a typical pulp horror.

Both Mercury and Venus have tails, like comets.
Mercury's is formed from sodium atoms being blasted free of its 'exosphere' (like an atmosphere, but too thin to behave like gases), and then fluorescing, due to cosmic radiation (like our polar auroras).
