Considering future life as an expat. Lover of all animals/nature. Evidence-based everything. Hiking|Kayak|Art. Prefers being lost in actual wilderness as opposed to the one in which we find ourselves now. Old enough to provide FP historical accounts.
I read we had about 1000+ turnout. I was AMAZING.

This is amazing. This is the exact sort of "on the scene" reportage we both crave and deserve.

"I'm here outside the Presidential Palace where apparently some bullshit is going down. A bunch of middle aged Korean men are finna throw hands and I'm drunk as fuck right now. Back to you, Keith."

Big accounts/shakers spend all their energy farming. They have no time for real people, by and large. It’s a byproduct of maintaining and growing their brand. I’ll follow the ones interesting to me, but recognize them for what they are.

So these ‘leaders’ . . . . Where are the women?

Those public brain attacks utterly innoculated Trump against any harm from McConnell. While he remains intact 99.997% of the time, Mitch is but a wraith now in the MAGA manosphere of power.

This is Monte. One half of Monte and July who were both adopted on the same day in 2023. He is the most athletic cat I’ve ever met and the most eager to please. He really needs you to be impressed. #CatsOfBluesky

Oh. I would call that civility, a cultural norm. I am inclined to attribute at least some of the collapse of civil interaction globally to our collective trauma response to the pandemic.

It seems to me that kindness must be modeled to be taught successfully to kids. Kindness behavior taught in a moral vacuum feels like enforced acquiescence.

The smallpox gun looked like this. My polio vaccine was given on a sugar cube. I recall being quite excited about that. I still remember the flavor. That was also delivered in the same lunchroom/gymnasium.

My smallpox vaccine was delivered in my elementary school cafeteria/gymnasium via a gun. As a 1st grader, the pressure to not cry was intense. I remember how loud the gun was, but I do not remember any great discomfort directly or following. Also: damn my skin is dry.
