In terms of the cuts, just to look at the largest ones (there are MANY more in the minutiae of the bill) by 2034, 18,800,000 will lose their health insurance and 3,000,000 will lose SNAP food assistance. Also, many (estimates pending) rural hospitals reliant on Medicaid will close.

The $17 billion annually would place it at 22nd, between Brazil and Mexico. Strictly to conduct a genocide by displacement (which qualifies by the dictionary definition of "genocide"). Not even to talk about all the deaths due to the cuts. Don't stop talking about this. Hold them accountable.

That's been the playbook post-WW2. Reagan got the wheels rolling, but even before, the Pentagon system was funneling taxpayer money to corporations to prop up Wall St. They used to talk about it pretty explicitly- the footnotes of chapter 3 of Understanding Power by Chomsky are pretty eye-popping.

He doesn't owe anyone answers. It would be nice, sure, but we shouldn't expect them- especially since there are so many of them. I don't doubt that he'll do an AMA sometime when he has some free time.

Of course they are! They generate SO much engagement, and those metrics feed ad revenue, didn't you know? We're leaving so much money on the table here not having ads and Nazis. 😂 Then again, we don't have to generate value for shareholders, so we can afford to. I like this vision for the future.
