In Oromia, climate whiplash is real. Floods damage water systems and droughts dry up wells, threatening lives and livelihoods.

@news.sky.com spoke with local children who can now go to school and stay healthy thanks to 32km of new climate-resilient pipes that supply clean water for 46,000 people.

The research found that for every square kilometre of forest lost, 7.4 Olympic-size swimming pools worth of water disappear.

Combined with the effects of climate change, this loss of vegetation is pushing the water cycle off balance, exposing millions of people to water scarcity.

[2/2] British Taxpayers should be proud of their role in protecting girls & women in the face of poverty & climate change.

But they should also be alarmed to witness a world where increased defence spending comes at the price of supporting women & girls.
