These people will absolutely try to hold their world together with the cheeks of their asses in order to keep using their fix.

We should also be ridding govt of anti democratic staffers and cronies that these corrupt politicians hire. Like the guy who was in league with right-wing crypto at the same time as being in charge of infrastructure spending corporate handouts in PA govt

Bob Casey's senior staffer who talked down to me & claimed as if she was a lawyer that I wasn't disabled & didn't deserve any reasonable accommodation... went on to work for John Fetterman. Wonder if she's still there.

A lot of these data centers aren't even for AI - they're probably for cryptocurrency, but none of the reporters ever seem to mention that part.

These plans could be happening in your area and you won't know right away because the politicians are signing NDAs (nondisclosure agreements) to keep the data center plans secret until they're ready to go and there's less time for you to organize against it.

Sick of Appalachia being used to take the brunt of whatever the important people decide to do to wreck the economy. We know that elite politicians with their hands in the cookie jars think we're just "coal cracker mentality" victims.

I'm pretty sure that most of the ones planned near Scranton in Lackawanna County Pennsylvania are likely to be crypto printing data centers not AI cluster campuses because most of the land tracts proposed are less than 300 acres.

And no, sorry bluesky is just not an exception to anything just because it's not as obviously horrendous as some other platforms.

Bluesky is not the town square, once more this time with feeling.
Social media, with all the algorithms designed to keep you scrolling and posting on apps... and all the bots and PR operations... it's not activism.

The underdog often doesn't have the money or clout. That's kind of how it works.

But I got an actual content creator @theletterhack.bsky.social to help the underdogs out here, so it's not like you can't:

Often the things that people do to chase clicks don't lead to action and progress in the world.
We absolutely can't wait for the influencers.

What @theletterhack.bsky.social & @dollemore.com are talking about seems relevant to me because people sometimes mistake me for a content creator. I'm an activist so my goal isn't $metrics thus I get treated like 3rd class. 😂😂😂😂😂😂

I live in an area reknowned for political corruption, including among Democrats, and it's something most people can't stand.

When registered Democrats like me complain about the Dem politicians who endorse boondoggles and corruption, this is what we're mad about. Can we just have representatives not in the pocket of big industry?

They're floating this so they can inure our minds then pull a bait and switch & bailout crypto printing data centers & nuclear plants they think they can paste into the minds of Americans as the same as chatgpt & your cloud backup and therefore our fault.

I have known exactly one person who got excited over Mike Bloomberg as a potential presidential candidate. Same person who acted like I was foolish to be offended by nepotism and corruption because it's the way it always has been and it's just the way it is. I'm not the fooled.

There's a book about this.

This book came out a couple of years ago and I heard the author on a podcast and thought that ship had already sailed actually.

Same thing happens with activists and advocates for public health or the environment etc...... Then you're called a "detractor" or "opponent" or "agitator" to whatever thing they're pushing.
