When was the last time you visited the Charles R. Conner Museum at Washington State University? The museum, which predates #WSU’s first graduating class, specializes in vertebrates. Most of the collection comes from the Pacific Northwest. Here are a few exhibits. magazine.wsu.edu/web-extra/a-...

Specimen No. 4 is a small, translucent jellyfish collected near Keyport on the Olympic Peninsula. Not much else is known about the little marine animal, stored in a glass jar labeled with cursive handwriting, other than the date it was collected: July 30, 1899. #WSU

Philip Meech (’00 Finance, Busi.) began roasting coffee in his parents’ garage in August 2000, a few months after his #WSU graduation. He was 23. His parents were his business partners. They started small, roasting just 7 pounds at a time. #GoCougs

#WSU food science doctoral candidate Ahhria Kirkendall (’13 Biol.) Kirkendall consumes cranberries as often as she can. She drinks cranberry juice, adds dried cranberries to baked goods, came up with her own cranberry salsa, and enjoys cranberry jam, sauce, and more.
