Normally I do travel sketches or drawing, rarely repeating a work. This year I decided to do some Christmas Bell cards for family and half way through I’m a bit drained and want to finish them off with a background. I’m thinking of different backgrounds to lose the “ turning the handle” feeling.

So. I caught the train and sat in what is described as a quiet carriage. Some guy was on the phone and then next thing this happened at the next stop!

I don’t live in the USA so the politics is a mystery but I’m certain there’s one place I’m not going to let the hatred that festers there be and that’s between my ears.

I have a choice tomorrow of two different events in my sport. One is competitive. People say I have an obligation to go. I’m against a guy who cheats. The other is a charity day at a club, where I feel welcome. I’ll forfeit the comp. My choice. My life.

We get visits from the koel pair. They like to eat the tomatoes and the blueberries. If they could be quiet at 3:30 am that would be good.

I decided to give Bluesky a try first because an artist I follow on Insta recommended it. Secondly, I am hoping, really hoping, it is not filled with the anger and naked narcissistic tide of Twitter and Meta. Most people are lovely. Let’s make a better world.
