The Warwickshire Area of the Ramblers. 11 Groups in our area run regular groups walks. We Liaise with Birmingham, Solihull, Coventry and Warwickshire councils to improve the state of the footpath network and get people out walking.
Great to read about some of the excellent work you have been doing in Warwickshire!

We hope you are supporting the principles of the CPRE's sunshine Bill. As well as putting solar panels in the best place, on roofs, it will ensure lower bills for residents of new houses rather than bigger profits for builders. www.cpre.org.uk/news/sunshin...
Sunshine Bill debate calling for solar PV on new homes adjourned

Have read the first few chapters after buying a copy from Tom at our AGM a couple of weeks ago. Really enjoying it. It is a very positive book that gives hope for the future.

Warwickshire Area's AGM will be in Long Itchington in the Warwickshire countryside this Saturday and we have a similar walk planned for afterwards to walk off the buffet lunch!

About 1.5 miles of paths are affected by this application. Rather than walking through pleasant countryside you would be walking between two metres high security fences. Hardly any of the new houses being built around Leamington have solar panels on their roofs. That's where to put them.

It isn't about eliminating solar farms, it is about reducing the need for them so they are not installed where they damage the countryside and take valuable farmland out of use. The CPRE site we quoted claims 60% of Britain's solar can be generated by rooftop, so that would be a big help.
