Selected photos from the Dunkeld Writers Festival, thanks to Sam Kaspers of Bespoke Design, though photo of the Andrew, me and Tracey with our hands in place looks like its Sam Kerr about to take the shot.

At the Dunkeld Writers Festival. My moosh on posters all over the place, except the police station. Roz Greenwood's bookstore is as exquisite as ever.

And thus inspired, on a day when the sky is dribbling cold. Much garlic and red wine. Merci Ed!

@shewantstorun.bsky.social Have had brilliant seafood chowder on a miserable day in Boston at Smith and Wollensky (recommended by Barry Jones) and twice at Hotel Kamp in Helsinki but, have to say, thick with king salmon, this was up there. Perfect for a cold, occasionally miserable day hereabouts.

The Dunkeld Writers' Festival, nestled under Mounts Sturgeon and Abrupt, is one of the best Writers' Festivals of the year. Worth a trip to one of Australia's prettiest country towns to hear from a stellar cast of writers and scribblers.

As the Dominion settlement showed, NewsCorp will always avoid a jury, including in this latest edition of The Australian's Circuit Breaker puzzle.

@shewantstorun.bsky.social Annie Warburton, ABC broadcaster of renown, is on a nostalgia kick on Facebook, to which I have added my two'penneth. Don't want blueskyers of renown to miss out on drinking from that finest and most potent of libations that is nostalgia.

Socceroos win and this. A good start to the day. And 13.23 was either side of my morning chat with Sally Sara and ABC Radio National's Breakfast program.

The new dog park in St Albans Park, just along from where they hid Phar Lap before the 1930 Melbourne Cup and also home to Briseis, winner in 1876 with Peter St Albans the youngest jockey to win the Cup, aged 12. No wonder Ruby, Rory and Remy were living up to their thoroughbred status.

Remy made a friend at the dog park.

A neat 50 premierships between this bunch of Newtown and Chilwell Cricket Club past players having lunch at the fabled Gold Diggers Arms.

With apologies to Chuck Negron, Cory Wells and Danny Hutton. (Why do you ask Three Dogs?) Second time only people at this dog park at Lara. Long drive but fun on the M1, people smiling and taking pics as golden hair flies out from the Beamer like the plume from a plane. Saves much brushing.

This is the second punching bag I have broken during my boxing sessions with personal trainer Amy. The modus operandi I use: think of someone I don't like much and go bang for half an hour!
