Wargame and
history enthusiast with a big green shed. In the Warshed there is only war. And a strimmer.
Played BelloLudi rules at the club tonight with Wofun flats in 15mm. I really liked the rules- ideal for a club night. Wofun flats were something new for me but looked good and made for a nice looking game. I played Confederates and got soundly thrashed - as it should be.

Not good. And I've just been handed more "shaken l" counters for "later"

I played Fireball Forward at the club on Monday. British vs Germans. It was a learning game but it was easy to get to grips with. I like the movement mechanics in particular - quite Crossfire-like. I understand it is considered a spiritual sequel to Crossfire. Also liked the card driven activation.

I played Storm Over Arnhem at the club tonight. A vintage Avalon Hill game (1981). It was great! Easy to pick up the rules. I felt it produced a plausible game, consistent with the historical events but still provided the players with dilemmas and tricky decisions.

The was a lovely 1600s Caribbean game in 28mm from League of Ausberg at Claymore yesterday. The League guys always put on a cracking looking game.

I loved Andor so decided to build a small force of rebels and imperials for some sort of game with a rules set yet to be decided on. All 3d prints -Skullforge covert raiders and Dark Fire Designs DOME squad. Inspired by Scarif raiders and ISB tactical. Really nice sculpts.

Played @toofatlardies.bsky.social Chain of Command 2 at the club tonight. Delaying action scenario. British (me) held on 'til the bitter end but lost in the last phase. I really like the changes to the rules. Subtle, clever tweaks rather than an overhaul but really improves the game experience.

Very enjoyable game of Black Powder at the club last night using @warlordgames.com Epic American Civil War (with some Kallistra). Union victory despite an aggressive Confederate assault. The Kallistra mix in very well with the Epic. I think the Epic scale provides a very nice looking game.

Gaslands at the club tonight. Total carnage and great fun. Good laugh had all round. Terrific game that is easy to learn but hard to master!

Another fun game of Black Powder at the club last night. A British victory in the second campaign game pushing the French further back. 15mm game. Various makes of miniatures including Essex.

Fun Black Powder Napoleonics game at the club last night. I assisted the French commander in an unsuccessful assault on the British holding a village. Tough nut to crack. Game 1 of a mini campaign.

I joined a Wargames club (Falkirk and District). Very positive experience so far and last night I played Thalassa ancient naval rules. I was soundly beaten but had a very enjoyable game. Lovely miniatures and easy to pick up rules which emulated the chaos of battle well.

I recovered this from the depths of the warp (my brother's flat). Might give it a try and see what all the fuss is about...
