I know some people disagree with me about this but I have yet to see disagreement that is rooted in a substantive concern with and attention to the fact that the US is a settler colony that was built through imperial violence on its own soil that never stopped bsky.app/profile/chan...
The “imperial boomerang” framework was developed to discuss European countries and the repressive tactics they utilized in countries where they had a colonial presence.
I don’t think it is a sufficient framework to describe settler colonial, former enslaving states like the US, Australia, etc.
