The Swiss have granted US companies registered under the Data Privacy Framework adequacy for data transfers, effective 15 September. The US govt designated Switzerland as a “qualifying state” for EO 14086 back in early June, so not a huge surprise. www.admin.ch/gov/en/start...

Good article on a potentially really big USA privacy decision. My nitpick is it’s a bit too complimentary of the Stored Communications Act, a 40 year old law that has needed updating for *a while* as the decision itself shows

Really curious to see the text of this Executive Order: first potential major data transfer limitation we might see in the USA.

It’s of course a sad state that any new USA Federal privacy/tech law has to pass exclusively through the executive branch.

Joint statement from a number of leading privacy regulators on scraping: seems like a big deal.
