I can't speak for anyone else, but as a progressive NYer, I am loving this. Mamdani did or said nothing to betray his values and in fact reasserted them. Still too early to judge how this will all play out, but he really put to shame people who have far more political experience.

I seriously hope they kill it and leave it for the next council rather than do a dumb bill. If not, I hope my council member @galeabrewer.bsky.social does not participate in weakening this bill. While I like her generally, she is very problematic on a lot of street issues.
