These are all well known plates, and they aren't bothering to switch them. They're terrorizing the same territory every day.

Witness whose yard the truck crashed in/whose yard ICE chased the men from the truck told me: “They did not look like police, just a bunch of dudes in camo with masks. They jumped out of several unmarked vehicles with dark front windows. Would not provide name or ID, or take off their masks.”

This is not just an offshoot of the federal takeover of DC--if anything, DC is an escalation of what has been happening all over this area since January. They started at the Home Depots. They continued to the U-hauls. Now it's checkpoints and chasing white trucks.

You can get identical badges for about $32. In this case they seem to be associated with the same team profiled by Maria Kabas, as well as WaPo, who were formally claimed by the White House. So, yes they are "real" ICE agents, and also real ICE agents are using generic, anonymous badges.

This photo was taken on my street in Takoma Park, MD (the town straddles the border). They aren't hiding badge numbers though, because their cosplay mail order badges don't come with them.
