This was one of my favourite moments from last night's Mordheim game. The Thing (aka, Turkey Man) has just walked down the stairs and is eyeing up his next meal. The skaven have the chance to charge him as a group and overwhelm him, but all bar one rat fail their fear test so fail to charge!

Tonight me and my mate played the Thing in the Woods Mordheim scenario. The two Things definitely had the best of it! Turkey Man ate two skaven, while the wolfman killed one of my swordsmen.

I've just finished painting up Sandor the werewolf from @badsquiddogames.bsky.social, just in time for him and Turkey Man to travel to Mordheim tomorrow night. They will be haunting some ruins and hunting some unsuspecting warbands who dare enter their territory.

If you live near Newcastle upon Tyne you may be interested in these events taking place at the City Library.

I have had a cracking afternoon playing 3rd edition 40k. My guard versus the sneaky Eldar. Great fun was had. I do love these older games.

As I'm in between doing some warbands and terrain for Mordheim I thought it'd be a fun palette cleanser to add some units to my long-running 1809 Napoleonic project.

One of the Instagram comments by the creator of this game was that they used AI images as they couldn't afford human artists.

I can't afford to live in a palace. Doesn't mean I go and take someone else's and call it mine.

A simplification and an exaggeration for sure, but is it really?

I have just written a new blog post about the market stalls I recently made:

At the moment I'm enjoying adding one-off characters to my Mordheim collection. This is a Questing Knight who has wandered into the City of the Damned and is now hiring himself out as a sell-sword while he continues his epic quest.

A couple of days ago I was on a walk past Rievaulx Abbey - it's a lovely location. Well worth a visit.

It's the last couple of hours of my Halloween sale. Don't sleep through it like my cats are.

Run for your lives, Halloween is here!

Grab yourself a deal - Halloween sale ending tomorrow on our range of Jewish Revolt figures at Northwing Miniatures.

I absolutely loved building these stalls. The one thing I'll do differently in the future is use MDF for the bases to make them a bit more robust. Other than that I think they turned out well.

Are you in the market for a scarily good sale?

Halloween sale now on at Northwing Miniatures.

Played Mordheim down at the club last night, this time bringing my unbloodied skaven. We ended up playing a 3 player multiplayer game, with me, some dwarf treasure hunters and Bretonnians. My Skaven showed surprising elan, sweeping the board. Definitely a case of quantity over quality!

I'm really happy with how these market stalls have turned out. Obviously a bit rough and ready, but I had fun making them and I think they're quite effective.

An actual photo of the Great Pumpkin Revolt? Nope, just letting you know that I've put a sale on my website.

I'm not normally one for sales, but I might make an exception for Halloween.

It's nearly Halloween, so I thought I'd put a cheeky sale on my website! 10% off most of the things between now and the spookiest day of the year.

I could've come up with a fun graphic, but I figured people would rather see my cats being cute.

This morning I'm play testing a scenario I dreamt up. Basically it's a treasure island set-up, with option for multiplayer. However, I can already see a flaw with the deployment so I'm going to reset, this time with the island in the middle.

How cool is this mini? Dating back to 1995, this is a great looking model. I haven't quite worked out how I'm going to paint him yet, but I'm thinking of maybe making him next week's project.

Got wood?

Today I'm building some market stalls for my minis to fight over. I've already built one as a test model. I'm not happy with the canvas roof, but other than that I think it came out well.

Oh, I get to use my new cordless glue gun!

Boaty McBoat Face and Sir Sinksalot ready for launching. I plan to use these for a special Mordheim scenario I have planned, and then just as terrain pieces.
