Nothing in the films suggests deities that one should devote one's life to, much less worship. They all seem very violent and unstable.

Horrible framing. The shutdown was a threat by MAGA, and your party caved. Vote properly then go out onto the steps of the Capitol and put the pressure on THEM instead of rolling over and taking whatever fascist bullsh*t they throw at you. You're the OPPOSITION PARTY. Oppose them.
