Load time performance yes, not so much on runtime. Runtime is definitely something that frameworks help with

I wouldn’t say it’s nonsense. When looking at user code at my time at Gatsby it was mostly usage of big third party modules or lack of code splitting. Framework can help break these patterns but React’s 50kb wasn’t the biggest issue.
