Last night there was a shooting in Dinkytown that resulted in one person losing their life, as well as several injuries. My office is in communication with MPD and UMPD and will share any updates. MPD will be doing extra patrols in the area.

Update on Shooting incident at Annunciation Church as of 9:30am today

Active police situation at the Annunciation Church on 509 W. 54th St. There is no active threat to the community at this time. The shooter is contained.

My heart goes out to all community members impacted by this tragic event.
