While designed and trained to be "loyal and obedient", renegade or free genies are inevitable. Some types of genies capable of sexual reproduction have even been recognized as people instead of property, becoming regular citizens through organized political action.

A sort of legalized slavery, specialized genies fill many niches throughout the solar system. While human labor is used for most tasks still, genies are popular when they need permanent labor in specialized or hazardous conditions.

Genies are made almost entirely in a lab, through carefully designing their genetic code from scratch. Most are mass-produced in labs via artificial wombs. Genies are also always primarily human DNA: Animal based genetically engineered life are mainly called Chimeras.

Elves are also humanoid, looking like adult humans though with childlike proportions. They are naturally docile, quiet, and healthy. Elves are domestic servants, meant to be as discrete as possible while maintaining their owners property.

Fairies are the most humanoid, looking like very small but well proportioned and attractive humans. Their skin, eyes, and hair can come in any imaginable color, often customized to their owners tastes. Fairies are quick, graceful, and often trained performers, meant as entertainers and companions.

Imps are generally scrawny, with exaggerated facial features and enlarged craniums. They are living computers, with excellent memory and sensory abilities. They are meant as research assistants, bookkeepers, and secretaries for businessmen, politicians, and academics.

Gremlins are the least human looking, with significant DNA from primates spliced in. They're wiry, and ape-like with long arms and fingers, and prehensile grasping handlike feet. Gremlins are made as technical assitants and laborers, especially suited for the cramped conditions in space.

Great arcologies allow the planet to boast a population nearly quadruple any other, and therefore provides a steady stream of labor and immigration to every other more "productive" planet. In function much of Earth is little more than gargantuan slums raising people like livestock.

Thus earth produces mainly biological exports: Food and People. Gargantuan farms, greenhouse complexes, aquaponic towers, ranches and fish farms cover the world. These high tech farms produce the raw materials that are processed into food that feeds the solar system.
