You invite destruction to live in your veins. Why should I not eat you, at this moment?” Its voice was kind, soft, emotionless. There was no tonal shift in it. It sounded terribly static and it had an accent that Yunis was not used to, a rasp beneath the soft, the r’s and s’s spoken as if they were tilted. “I. You shouldn’t eat me. Uh. Because.” They looked to Interloper. Interloper wasn’t looking at them. She was looking over her shoulder, up to the hills that surrounded this lake.
