While #biking the Heritage Trail in NY, stopped at 6 1/2 Mile Sanctuary in search of #birds. Although the sound app picked up many, none were to be seen. Then the rare Chipmunkbird appeared. After that a swan, a yellow warbler and probably the reason all were in hiding, the red-tailed hawk.

Black-and-white warblers must be all rested up from their migration. There were about a dozen flying around every which way on the #AppalachianTrail in PA. They never sit still. I took 55 pictures of tree trunks and branches and miraculously got 4 with #birds.

On Easter Day my 5 & 7-year old grandchildren hiked up Stairway to Heaven on the Appalachian Trail in NJ to Pinwheel Vista then on to a remote overlook I had found a while back off an old, barely visible trail. They even signed the AT trail register. #hiking #AppalachianTrail #AT

In 2012 while #hiking in Virginia I found this dazed little girl Cardinal in the middle of the road. Stopped, scooped her up and drove a stick shift while holding her in my hand. Passed her off to a state park ranger who told me the next day she recovered and flew away. #birds
